Addington Hostel has been providing supportive housing to men for 130 years in Addington.
This is a 24 hour staffed site providing a wraparound support for men who have had involvement with Corrections, Addictions or Mental health services in the past
About the Role
The Support Workers are an essential part of our 24 hour team, providing a range of support to the men during their stay with us.
This team help to maintain the smooth operation of the hostel both day and night across 3 x 8 hour shifts.
We need additional Casual staff to cover gaps in our permanent roster due to staff on leave.
What will your responsibilities be
Medication support
Day to day food services
Some cleaning each shift
Site security
Engaging with the men
Client notes and records
Our ideal candidate will
Have completed their Level 4 Cert in Health and Wellbeing (or approved equivalent)
We will consider someone who has a Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, if they are within 3 months of finishing the Level 4 Certificate.
Must have at least 1 year of NZ based experience in Housing, Mental health, Addictions or Corrections work setting.
Comfortable to work in an all male hostel (majority of staff are female)
Able to work afternoons, nights and weekends shifts, as this is when we are needing Casual staff
