Pact GroupNelson, NZPact is currently looking for 2 part time and 1 casual Community Support Workers to work in our intellectual disability residential service in Motueka
The Role
Your role will include supporting the clients to participate in meaningful activities in the community, support with daily house tasks, and assistance with personal hygiene. Further assisting in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau and cultural reconnection.
Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies is essential. Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be an advantage.
Your days may vary, but will consist of :
- Engaging with clients
- Setting and achieving individual personal goals
- Encouraging client participation in day-to-day life
- Supporting them with activities of daily living
- Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs
- Supporting clients with personal hygiene
- Activities within the community
- Supporting social and whanau connection
- Motivating clients to know they have purpose
- Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
- Most importantly supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
2 x Part Time 64 hours per fortnight plus sleepovers (includes weekends)
1 x Casual position
As we operate 24 / 7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend, awake night and sleepover shifts.
