About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) team and support care delivery throughout the wider hospital. You will be an integral part of Variance Response Management, attending clinical areas encountering a mismatch in demand versus capacity. You will temporarily slot into teams and provide excellent clinical assessment and nursing care – from ED to Children’s Ward to Outpatients and everywhere in between – no two shifts will be the same! Role demand will vary and the flexibility to undertake alternative nursing tasks within the IOC and wider hospital is an absolute must. The salary for this role is NZNO Registered Nurses Step 4-7 (depending on experience) pro rata .
About the Team / Service / Location
The IOC provides a comprehensive clinical and operational service 24 / 7, ensuring patient safety, optimising resource allocation, and supporting effective hospital management. The IOC incorporates a range of critical services, including Transit Nursing, Allocation and Casual Nursing, the Transit Hub, Variance Response Nursing, the Duty Nurse Manager (DNM) team, and the National Travel Assistance service. About you
- A skilled and enthusiastic registered nurse with a minimum of four years acute nursing experience
- You have a can-do attitude with a positive energy and a true desire to help others
- Kind and calm under pressure. Self-motivated. Outstanding communication skills and the ability to rapidly establish effective rapport with a diverse range of people.
- Ideal existing competencies include : NZRC Core Advanced, CVAD, cannulation / phlebotomy, NIV
- Experience within the New Zealand acute care setting is highly advantageous
