Free flu vaccination + Wellness programme + Discounted goodsHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleA position has become available in the Community Allied Health Services (CAHS) Team in Tauranga for a permanent full-time Social Worker with at least three years' experience working in a health-related setting.This role involves the provision of social work services to clients within their own homes and community.The position is based at the CAHS office in central Tauranga and covers a wide geographical area in the Western Bay of Plenty.

The Allied Health team works alongside individuals with physical health needs using a client centred, enablement approach.

The team's focus is to maximise client safety and functional independence; to enable them to achieve their wellness goals so they can remain living in their own home.A key part of this role is establishing and utilising professional networks, then using these networks to problem solve and meet client's needs.

Another is building a knowledge of health systems and services, then using this knowledge to assist clients to navigate these systems and services.About the Team / Service / LocationThe CAHS team is comprised of allied health assistants, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers and speech language therapists.Situated in the sunny eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island, the Bay of Plenty really is just that, offering vast golden sand beaches, bush clad mountains, lush farmlands and more.

Its pleasant climate means that the area has become a favourite for holiday makers, retirees and those looking for a different lifestyle outside of the main cities.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatane.

We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatane, Kawerau and Opotiki.

Bay of Plenty Hauora a Toi is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4500 staff.A successful applicant will have been able to demonstrate their ability to be a clear communicator, a builder of connections within the wider community and have excellent time management skills.

You will be independently managing a caseload of varying complexity and completing assessments with an interprofessional lens.
