Community Support Worker

Arohanui Art and Education Trust provides day services that have a creative and communityapproach for people living with a disability in both Tauranga and Te Puke.Due to a further increase in client numbers requiring services, we are wanting to bring some extra dynamic members to join the Arohanui team.The position is for 5 days a week, Monday to Friday working at our Greerton CentreThe role will be for 30 hours per week.

The hours of work are usually between 9am and 3pm.Keen for a change and wanting to make a positive difference,we want to hear from you.A positive attitude and flexibility, with a desire to provide excellent services to the people we support is a prerequisite.We operate all year round with a compulsory close down for three weeks over the Christmas period.

The successful applicant must be able to work during the school holidays.We offer competitive hourly rates up to $29.10 per hour depending on experience.On going training and support to obtain a level 4 qualification in Health and Well being.And insurance scheme after a qualifying period as well as other staff benefits.Key attributes required.Experience in working with people with intellectual disabilities preferred, or a desire to work in the disability sector.Experience / or comfortable in supporting people with personal cares.Excellent communication skills written and verbal.Able to develop and deliver life skills programmes in a fun creative way.Awesome team player with a can do attitude.Sense of humour.Clean full drivers licence.Current first aid certificate or willing to obtain one.Employment is conditional on completion of a police check.You may be looking for a change of career or want to change your current role for set hours with no weekends or sleepovers.
