We deliver services rooted in kaupapa Maori values, spanning health, housing, and education.As a People Services (HR) Advisor your support to both leaders and kaimahi to enhance employee capability will drive a positive workplace culture.About the RoleAs a People Services (HR) Advisor, you will be a trusted partner to Ngati Hine Health Trust employees, providing expert guidance on employment relations and people development.
Reporting to the Head of People Services, and being a part of a small, driven team, you will support in the shared HR services required for operations.Due to an internal promotion and one of our HR Advisors relocating, we have two (2) HR Advisory positions to fill.x1 Advisor will be based primarily at the Whangarei office, x1 Advisor will be based primarily at the Mid-North Kawakawa or Kaikohe office.
There will be an expectation for you to travel between the NHHT offices (Company cars available to use on site via our booking system) and on a roster alongside the Head of People Services and the HRBP.Key Responsibilities will includeProviding timely and efficient advice on HR policies, procedures and best practices.
Assist in resolving employment disputes and offer support for performance assessments.Contributing to the development and application of HR policies and procedures, while participating in change management and improvement initiatives.Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including union representatives and public sector agencies.Proactively managing HR tasks, escalating issues when necessary and ensuring compliance with NHHT's standards.Identify training needs and supporting delivery of training initiatives that enhance the skills and capabilities of our workforce.Assist in the administration of compensation and benefits programs.Assist in induction programmes and activities for all new employees including monthly review process for the first three months.Assisting with wellness meetings and employee coaching to foster a healthy and engaged workforce.Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.Partnering with Health & Safety to create a safe and supportive workplace.Collaborate with our Head of People Services to design and execute engagement initiatives that foster employee engagement, satisfaction and retention.QualificationsProven experience in an HR Advisory role, ideally in a social service setting (or similar).Demonstrated experience in employee relations and performance management.Strong knowledge of Employment Law, HR policies, procedures and HR best practices.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.A personable, hard-working and flexible attitude.Confidence in dealing with people and leading difficult situations escalating issues when needed.Conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.Exceptional organisational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills for liaising with employees at all levels as well as external stakeholders.Strong MS office skills.Relevant qualification in HR or equivalent.Why Join Us?Dynamic Role : Shape the voice of our organisation.Professional Growth : Develop impactful strategies for engagement.People Services Vibe : A small, colourful, motivated and passionate team, that is supportive, has fun while performing the "HR" jobs, ensuring to deliver the best service every day.How to ApplyHelp build an informed and connected workplace at Ngati Hine Health Trust.
