About the RoleCommunity Health Service Kapiti is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our District Nursing team in a part-time (0.8 FTE) role.
This role offers the opportunity to work with greater autonomy while being part of a supportive and collaborative team environment.District Nursing is a dynamic and evolving field.
As a District Nurse, you will provide comprehensive care in the community, including : Intravenous therapyPalliative careWound and stoma careCompression bandaging and Doppler assessmentsMedication managementIncontinence and respiratory careHome oxygen therapyYou will also assess patients requiring personal care at home, develop care plans, and coordinate with Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to ensure quality delivery of services.Shifts are : Morning : 0800 - 1630, Afternoon : 1330 - 2200We offer regular in-service training, study days, and opportunities for post-registration academic development through local institutions.
District Nurses actively contribute to service development through team meetings and Service Improvement Group (SIG) forums.
The salary range for this role is MECA Step 5 to 7 or $100,849 - $106,739 pro rata to hours worked.About the Team / Service / LocationBased at Kapiti Health Centre, our District Nurses support patients transitioning from hospital to home and collaborate with local GP practices to provide community-based care.
The team works closely with Community Health and HCAs to ensure holistic and patient-centred care.About youTo be successful in this role : Current Annual Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the NZ Nursing Council.Previous experience in district nursing position and experience / interest in working in the community setting.On the PDRP, or willing to work towards.Board range of experience in clinical nursing experience of at least five years.Able to develop and maintain relationships with other community healthcare providers.Ability to work collaboratively.Team player and have excellent decision making skills.Been autonomous in your practice and able to develop a plan of care based on your own assessment skills.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora weaves wellness.
