Help make Hamilton's roads safe - one conversation at a time!
We're looking for someone who's passionate about road safety and loves working with people.
In this hands-on role, you'll be out in the community promoting and coordinating road safety education programmes across Hamilton.
You'll work closely with local groups, high schools and internal teams to spread positive road safety messages.
Reporting to our Transport Education Team Leader, you'll be the face of road safety in our city, building relationships, driving awareness, and making a genuine impact.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the Road Safety Action Planning (RSAP) Process; development of programmes derived from the Government Policy Statement on land Transport, Regional Road Safety and our Access Hamilton Strategies.
To ensure that our 10-year plan is delivered on time and within specified budgets.
Reduction in road traffic incidents and injuries through targeted road safety messaging.
Increased community awareness and engagement in road safety education and initiatives.
Workshops / events are professionally planned, coordinated, delivered, evaluated ensuring continuous improvement.
Improved monitoring and evaluation of road safety programs.
Data collection and reports are concise, well written and tailored for the target audience.
Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures are adhered to enabling a safe and hazard free work environment for all staff, contractors and members of the public.
Qualifications
Certificate or equivalent experience in social behaviour change or experience in event management, communication, or marketing.
Strong analytical skills to interpret road traffic data and assess program impacts.
Experience in road safety, travel planning, or behaviour change programmes.
Knowledge of basic project management techniques.
Experience working in schools and with school students of all ages.
Experience in customer service or coaching, facilitating, and strong presenting skills.
A proactive and solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the National Transport Strategy and Government Policy Statement on land Transport and Access Hamilton Strategy.
Clean full New Zealand driver's licence.
Salary
Circa $35k - $39k dependent on skills and experience.
