We are looking for experienced roofers for long-term assignments in Raglan and the surrounding Waikato region .

Role Overview :

We are seeking skilled and experienced roofers with a strong background in installing, repairing, and maintaining various roofing systems. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work across residential and commercial roofing projects while adhering to the NZ Building Code and health & safety regulations.

We will also consider reliable candidates with no prior experience who are willing to learn and develop in the roofing trade.

Key Responsibilities

Metal Roofing Installation :

Measure, cut, and install long-run metal roofing and cladding systems (e.g. Colorsteel, Zincalume)

Install flashings, cappings, and ridging to ensure water tightness

Fix purlins and battens as required

Seal and secure joints and penetrations to prevent leaks

Membrane and Torch-On Roofing :

Install and repair torch-on membrane roofing systems (e.g. bitumen, TPO, EPDM)

Apply primers, adhesives, and waterproofing materials

Ensure proper bonding, overlapping, and detailing around upstands and penetrations

Use heat torches and safety equipment according to best practices

Tiled & Shingle Roofing :

Lay and fix concrete / clay tiles or asphalt shingles to pitch roofs

Install underlays, battens, and ventilation systems

Replace broken or damaged tiles and re-point ridge capping

Align tiles and shingles neatly and ensure weatherproofing

General Roofing Duties :

Identify roofing problems and provide effective repair solutions

Use ladders, scaffolding, harnesses, and fall protection equipment safely

Follow site-specific safety protocols and documentation requirements

Work efficiently under varying weather conditions

Skills & Experience

Minimum 2 years’ proven experience in roofing installation and maintenance (preferred, not essential)

Knowledge of different roofing systems and installation techniques

Familiarity with NZ Building Code and roofing safety standards

Ability to read and interpret roofing plans and specifications

Physically fit and capable of working at heights and on sloped surfaces

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Working at Heights and Site Safe certifications, or willingness to obtain

Current NZ driver’s licence
