We have a vacant role for Full-time Telecommunication Technician to work within Auckland region.
You will be required to work minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours from Monday to Saturday (6AM to 4PM) and also work sometimes on Sunday (if required); We need someone who is willing to commit to our company and is prepared to take the responsibility and adhere to.
Job Duties :
- Installs, maintains and repairs telecommunications equipment and appliances, such as telephones, mobile telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment.
- Fibre installations including cabling and fusion splicing in residential as well as commercial properties.
- Scoping and determined the most cost-effective route to connect a custom.
- Knowledge of structured cabling will be an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively to different sections of the installation process that includes service providers and dispatch centre is a key requirement.
- Take responsibilities for tools and plants and test equipment's.
- Tests and certifies fibre optic cables using specialized equipment (Splicer, OTDR Testers and Fibre Tracers)
- Implementing networks and ensuring efficient use of application and equipment.
- Installing cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV and computer transmission.
- Joining cables and sealing sheaths with lead and thermoplastic.
- Terminates fibre optic cables including patch, indoor and outdoor cables
- Connects fibre optic cables to networking outlets and between network outlets
- Run fibre optic cables underground and perform premises internal cabling
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain fibre optic systems.
- You will be looking after our customer's installations and services.
- Fibre cabling and Fusion splicing in commercial and domestic properties
- Plan, design, and troubleshoot local and wide area network infrastructure, including Wireless Routers, Switches, and Landline telephones.
- Integrating and Configuring Telecommunication Devices and tools.
- Providing ongoing operational supports for designing, troubleshooting, optimizing telecommunication network performance at all terminals including FAT, Network Cabinet, and Customers' end.
- Coordinate with customers and arrange for the installation of the services.
- Managing resources and completing tasks in the allocated time frames
- Programming optical network terminal (ONT)
- Implement health and safety requirements by using appropriate gear and personal protective equipment Core Requirements
Job Requirements :
To be successful you should have at least 2 years of relevant industry work experience or Level 5 or higher diploma qualification in Telecommunication.Good at identifying problems and troubleshooting hardware issues.Able to work independently and compatibility to work on weekends.Clean Character backgroundZero tolerance of alcohol and drugs in the workplaceSalary can be negotiated as per your proven experience level; it will range from $28 to $34 per hour.
