Project Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their Infrastructure Delivery team based in Wellington.This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering professional who thrives on managing diverse project operations and delivering exceptional results.

The role offers the potential to grow within a high-performing team committed to delivering key infrastructure for the region.Key ResponsibilitiesManage project performance, including subcontractor coordination, to ensure delivery meets quality standards and timelines.Oversee project documentation such as contracts, claims, bonds, and supplier agreements.Drive financial efficiency by managing costs, investigating discrepancies, and optimising resource allocation.Develop construction methodologies, budgets, and project programmes.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Support, coach, and mentor junior engineers and team members to enhance technical capability.Promote a Zero Harm culture, ensuring safety, environmental, and quality standards are upheld at all times.Skills4+ years of experience as a Site Engineer or higher, ideally within infrastructure or construction projects.Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering (preferred).

Strong understanding of project management, construction methodologies, and scheduling.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.Effective communication and leadership skills, with experience managing subcontractors and teams.
