Data Engineer

Up to $130,000, depending on experience.

About the role

Be a key leader in the end-to-end build of a greenfields Snowflake platform, in an initial 2-year fixed term position . You'll work with a small but capable team on a significant strategic project, combining data from multiple sources using modern tools like dbt , to ensure the critical growth and development of their ongoing data practices.

This role can be worked from anywhere within New Zealand, or from our client's Wellington or Christchurch offices .

Duties include :

• Design and build the new Snowflake data platform from inception
• Develop data transformations using dbt within the Snowflake environment
• Create ETL processes combining data from existing and new sources
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and technology vendors
• Understand differences between various data sets
• Design broader data functions and ETL architecture
• Document data pipelines thoroughly for maintainability
• Contribute insurance industry expertise to data processes
