Our Safety Officers provide a visible presence and de-escalate issues and reduce the public exposure to nuisance behaviour from other users.In this role you will be actively involved in gaining compliance to the Safety In Public Spaces bylaw.
While you will spend much of your time interacting with businesses and helping members of the public, the role requires you to deal with those causing anti-social and nuisance behaviour.
Hamilton City Council provides extensive training and support to ensure you have the skills to perform these tasks.Some Safety Officers also go on to monitor our CCTV network to provide a proactive response to issues as they happen.
