We are seeking an outstanding, experienced, and enthusiastic permanent full-time teacher to join our dedicated Year 7–8 Taupo Syndicate team at Plimmerton School.

The Year 7 / 8 Taupo Syndicate focuses on fostering confident, self-managing, and collaborative learners as they transition to college.
The successful applicant will be teaching a highly engaged class of intermediate students and will be expected to contribute to the wider life of the school.
Key qualities and skills
We are looking for a teacher who :
Has proven experience in effectively teaching and managing a Y7–8 class.
Is passionate about future-focused education and integrating digital learning (Chromebooks) to enhance student outcomes.
Is a strong collaborator who will actively contribute to syndicate and whole-school planning and initiatives.
Can create rich, authentic learning contexts.
Shows a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, is culturally responsive, and incorporates Te Ao Maori (including Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori) into their practice.
Has exceptional literacy and numeracy pedagogy to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Can actively lead or contribute to a co-curricular area (e.g., sports, arts, music, Kapa Haka).
Responsibilities and expectations
The Year 7 / 8 teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality teaching and learning for a Year 7 / 8 class, contributing to syndicate planning, and participating in the wider life of the school.
The role includes creating engaging learning contexts and supporting students to develop as self-managing, collaborative learners.
