An exciting opportunity has become available to join a curriculum area that is about to experience significant growth. We currently have two lines of ESOL, but with an expected growth in international students along with a continued growth in migrant students mostly from the Pacific we can now offer a full-time position.
Waitaki Boys' is a state, single-sex school in the beautiful seaside town of Oamaru in North Otago. At Waitaki Boys' our roll has approximately 440 students. In recent years the school has undergone a positive transformation. Our staff are highly skilled professionals who demonstrate great collegiality. The successful applicant will be dealing with students from a diverse range of backgrounds and will need to possess a determination to improve academic outcomes for all these students. This person will need to be passionate about boys' education and be able to lead pedagogy that works best for boys for whom English is a second language. They will also need to be involved in the strong co-curricular life of the school.
A strong secondary subject such as English would be an advantage.
