Overview

Ngai Tahu Seafood is looking for a dedicated and reliable Seafood Process Worker Driver to join our Christchurch team.

This role is vital in ensuring our high-value lobster product is handled with care and delivered safely to its destination.

You'll be part of a kaupapa-driven organisation that values integrity, whanaungatanga, and kaitiakitanga.

Responsibilities

Handle, grade, and pack live lobster and other aquatic species with care and precision.

Uplift and deliver seafood products across Te Waipounamu, maintaining temperature and load integrity.

Ensure compliance with MPI, food safety, and fisheries legislation.

Perform general labouring duties and support plant hygiene and maintenance.

Conduct weekly vehicle checks and maintain truck cleanliness and serviceability.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience in seafood processing or handling live crayfish is advantageous.

Knowledge of MPI and Health & Safety regulations is a plus.

Heavy trade license required; forklift license preferred.

Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

Physically capable of lifting up to 20kg.

Reliable and committed to rostered shifts (day and night).

Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Team player with a disciplined work ethic.

Willingness to learn Ngai Tahu values, tikanga and te reo Maori.

Affinity for working in a bicultural environment and understanding the aspirations of Ngai Tahu whanui.
