Responsibilities
We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills to provide up- to-date accurate information and advice on MIT and its programmes to key schools and communities, thereby encouraging the recruitment of new ākonga to MIT with an emphasis on Māori. You will bring strong experience in and be comfortable working with schools, iwi, hapu, whanau, marae, Māori community organisations, and government agencies to assist Māori to further embrace education and encourage their enrolment at MIT.
Established in 1970, Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) (Te Whare Takiura o Manukau) has been serving ākonga, students and the communities of South Auckland for over fifty years. MIT is a Business Division of Te Pūkenga, bringing together on-the-job, campus and online vocational education. Together with 16 Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics and 9 Industry Training Organisation our purpose is learning with purpose helping New Zealand move to a vocational education system that puts ākonga, learners in the centre. We are on a journey and this role is crucial to that journey.
