As our store continues to expand its product range, we are seeking a skilled Retail Buyer to manage purchasing, supplier relationships, and product selection across multiple departments.

About the Role – Retail Buyer

The Retail Buyer will be responsible for selecting, sourcing, and purchasing products that meet customer demand, ensuring competitive pricing, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. This role directly contributes to sales performance, stock availability, and overall store profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and select products based on customer trends, quality, pricing, and store strategy.

Negotiate with suppliers for favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

Analyse sales data, inventory levels, and market trends to make purchasing decisions.

Plan and coordinate stock replenishment and maintain optimal inventory levels.

Monitor product performance and adjust buying strategies to maximise sales.

Work with department managers on merchandising, promotions, and product placement.

Ensure compliance with food safety, store quality standards, and supplier requirements.

Skills & Experience Required

Applicants must meet one of the following :

• At least 2 years of relevant retail, procurement, or supermarket operations experiences

OR

Additionally :

Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

Ability to analyse data and make informed purchasing decisions

Understanding of grocery retail trends and customer behaviour

Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills

Proficiency with inventory or retail management systems
