As a Museum Host, you will be the face of the Museum for our visitors - welcoming them, providing information on exhibitions, activities and services on offer, and contributing to the running of events like exhibition openings and public programs.

Full training will be provided, although a keen interest in cultural and social history would be advantageous, and some front of house or customer service experience would be helpful too.The Te Awamutu Museum has just returned to its newly refurbished home, on Roche Street, and so this is an exciting time to join the team.Fortnightly RosterThe role is 45 hours per fortnight, as follows : Week one (24 hours)Monday 9 : 00am - 4 : 00pm

• Tuesday 9 : 00am - 4 : 00pm
• Saturday 9 : 45am - 2 : 15pmWeek two (21 hours)Monday 9 : 00am - 4 : 30pm
• Tuesday 9 : 00am - 4 : 30pm
• Including an unpaid 30-minute lunch breakThe roster will also include alternate public holidays (9.45am - 2.15pm)About YouTo be our successful candidate, you'll need to be : Warm and friendly, with strong customer service skills;Reliable and able to work the rostered hours;Comfortable using Maori words and place names;Flexible around working additional hours for exhibition openings, public workshops and leave cover occasionally.Waipa District Council offers a supportive work environment with generous leave entitlements and benefits, and genuine care for staff wellbeing.
