We are looking for a physically fit, motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join our team in Parks, Sport and Recreation as an Amenity Horticulture Apprentice.
What we offer
A 1-year fixed term contract covering parental leave during which time you will gain valuable work experience and successfully complete an NZQA Level 3 National Certificate in Horticulture Services - Amenity
A dedicated Apprentice Co-ordinator who will track your progress and guide you towards completion of your qualification
The opportunity to work in a variety of locations (based on a rotation scheme) and showcase your work in several of our city\'s prestigious sites including the Botanic Garden, Otari-Wilton\'s Bush, and the many other beautiful gardens of Poneke

If you would like to earn while you learn, have a commitment and genuine interest in plants and horticulture, good writing and reading skills, and preferably three years\' secondary education and a clean driver\'s licence then we would like to hear from you.
There is a requirement to be physically fit for this role, and applicants must be prepared to undergo pre-employment health, fitness, and drug screening as part of the pre-employment process.

Please note that apprentices work through a progression training framework and will start on the Living Wage.
