Main duties of the job
As an Associate Specialist, the key responsibilities include reviewing the mental state of patients, ensuring adequate handover to colleagues, managing physical health concerns, seeking collateral history, completing discharge letters and reports, providing oral evidence at hearings, and contributing to service development through clinical governance activities.

If you’re a Speciality Doctor looking for a new opportunity to join a friendly multidisciplinary team in an established secure service setting, then come and work at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in the Southwest for men and women with mental health needs.
This a 6-month post covering a period of maternity leave.
There will be great learning opportunities as you work with the multi-disciplinary team, which is comprised of consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, nursing, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, forensic psychotherapist, positive behaviour support practitioner, physical health team, visiting GP every week, and practice nurse.
This established service looks to continually innovate, improve and deliver excellent care for its service users, has an active programme of education and research and provides significant developmental opportunities for its staff.
