About the Role
As a key member of our Anaesthesia team, you will deliver high-quality perioperative care across various surgical specialties.
Working collaboratively, you will contribute to both planned and acute services, ensuring safe patient outcomes.
You will join a team of fifteen experienced and supportive SMO colleagues and one ANZCA basic trainee, working alongside a highly competent surgical and ICU team dedicated to excellence in patient care.
Your responsibilities include participating in the anaesthetic roster, covering planned and acute theatre sessions, providing anaesthesia after-hours on-call support, conducting anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics, and acting as the duty anaesthetist.

About the Team / Service / Location
Nelson's Anaesthesia team comprises experienced consultants, one ANZCA registrar, skilled anaesthetic technicians, and registered nurse assistants.
We pride ourselves on our collegial environment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and commitment to continuous learning.
Our service supports departments including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Mental Health, and the Emergency department.
We also provide anaesthesia for visiting subspecialty surgeons in Paediatric Surgery, Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastics, and Maxillofacial Surgery.
