About the role

As an Activities & Events Crew Member, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences at our outdoor sports facilities—primarily at Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub, the home of Canterbury athletics, hockey, tennis, rugby league, and netball. You'll also support international cricket fixtures at Hagley Oval, Christchurch's premier cricket ground.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Set up and pack-down support for the venue during sporting events, ensuring smooth operations throughout our busy summer season.
• Identifying and resolving maintenance issues, either hands-on or by coordinating with contractors.
• Completing planned DIY projects around the site using tools equipment and practical skills.
• Acting as a go-to contact for customers during events, delivering a branded experience that meets service standards.
• Supporting other Recreation & Sport Centre facilities as needed.
• Taking initiative during downtime to assist with additional projects, admin or other areas of interest across the facility.

We're looking for someone who's energetic, practical, and community-minded. Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and try new things are essential.
