We're looking for an experienced and talented Team Leader  to join our  Power & Future Energy  business located in  any of our New Zealand offices.

With our Power & Future Energy offering growing across New Zealand, you’ll have the opportunity to support local, Australian and Pacific projects, working with our team across the Asia-Pacific and global regions.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in :

  • Assisting the Business Group Leader (BGL) and Market Leaders to secure, schedule and manage workload.
  • Providing day to day supervision and coaching to the team in line with GHD’s core values and strategy
  • Mentoring, training & investing in the development of team members.
  • Leading key proposals and assisting with resource allocation.
  • Delivering your own technical work for our clients.
  • Working with the BGL to achieve financial targets for the team with respect to forward work, utilisation and invoiced fees.

What you will bring to the team :

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, coupled with 8+ years’ experience (consulting environment preferable), ideally with design, construction and commissioning of Power & Future Energy projects.
  • Have a keen interest in leading and developing a team, preferably with 3 years’ experience in a similar leadership role.
  • A collaborative and solutions-driven personality.
  • Ability to coach, support and direct team members to ensure effective client outcomes.
  • Growth and ownership mindset.
  • You will be New Zealand CPEng now or have a desire to be supported with your CPEng application in the future.
  • Experience in one or more of the following market areas : solar; BESS; transmission; distribution; wind – onshore and offshore; industrial power; industrial decarbonisation; pumped hydro and traditional hydro; energy systems integration; Pacific and Asia energy transition projects / energy resilience; and / or future and transitional fuels (including Hydrogen).
