We are looking for an experienced policy professional to lead our Infrastructure and Stewardship System Policy team. The Infrastructure and Stewardship System Policy Team develops, delivers and influences policy advice to solve issues and make improvements to the land transport system. The team has a particular focus on policy initiatives to improve the way NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) manages transport infrastructure, support effective and efficient regulatory activity and keep the land transport legislative framework up-to-date and enabling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of NZTA positions on the Government’s planning and land acquisition law reforms.
• Lead policy development on improvements to the graduated driver licence system and vehicle emissions standards.
• Lead our regulatory stewardship programme.
• Contribute to a broad range of issues across the land transport system.
