Job Description

How you’ll make an impact

As a Dental Assistant at Lumino Ponsonby, you’ll play a key role in creating positive patient experiences and supporting our clinicians to deliver high-quality care. Your professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail will help ensure smooth, efficient practice operations and exceptional outcomes for every patient.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include :

  • Assisting clinicians chairside during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency
  • Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms and instruments in line with strict infection control standards
  • Sterilising and caring for dental instruments and equipment
  • Educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
  • Supporting a friendly, professional, and patient-centred environment
  • Qualifications

    Your experience and approach

    We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care. Prior dental experience is preferred, but a willingness to learn and a passion for helping others are just as important.

    You should have :

  • Previous experience in a dental practice (preferred)
  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and dental software
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality care
  • A caring, professional, and adaptable approach
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and patient trust
