We're looking for a Senior Advisor – Governance who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. This role is pivotal in supporting our Board and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) with high-quality secretariat services, risk and assurance oversight, and strategic governance advice.

You’ll play a key role in enabling informed decision‑making across the agency, ensuring that our leadership and stakeholders are aligned, well‑supported, and equipped to deliver on our mission of improving the wellbeing of New Zealanders through effective social investment.

This is a dynamic position where no two days are the same working at the intersection of governance, strategy, assurance, privacy, and procurement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and manage Board and ELT secretariat functions, agendas, minutes, and logistics
• Provide strategic governance advice to senior leaders and stakeholders
• Support enterprise risk management, assurance planning, and internal audit processes
• Build and maintain key relationships across the social sector and within government
• Drive continuous improvement in governance processes and systems
• Support agency compliance with privacy and procurement obligations

Qualifications

Band 17 : $106 760 - $125 600 (depending on skills & experience)
