Job Description
The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be the early identification of new pathogens, out of which new diagnostic tests, treatments and control strategies will be developed.
The department is seeking a highly motivated team player to join the laboratory of Professor Lin-Fa Wang to research on various aspects of translational bat biology. This project investigates metabolic adaptations in a nectarivorous bat species evolutionarily adapted to a high sugar diet, to obtain translational insights into Type 2 diabetes and other metabolic diseases. Successful candidates will be part of a diverse team of bat researchers with national and international collaborations.
