Expressions of interest are invited for consideration for appointment as the Commissioner and / or List Members of the Eastern Bay of Plenty District Licensing Committee. The Eastern Bay District Licensing Committee will have responsibility for all local decisions on applications made under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, including premises licence applications, renewals, variations, suspensions and cancellations; new applications and renewals of manager's certificates; applications for temporary authority; and special licences.

These are regulatory decision‑making roles and your strengths will lie in your ability to function at a strategic and independent level, with a sound knowledge of the relevant legislation. You will have a strong community interest. Members need to be independent of the alcohol industry and have no current involvement or connections.

• A high standard of personal integrity
• Time available to undertake duties
• No conflict or perceived conflict of interest, including being a current Police Officer, Medical Officer of Health, Licensing Inspector or employee of a territorial authority.

Appointments will be subject to satisfactory police and reference checks. All appointees will be provided training before commencing duties from 15 December 2025 (Commissioner) or 1 April 2026 (List Members).
