OverviewFNE Engineering Ltd is a privately owned and operated engineering company.

Our well-equipped workshop is located in South Taranaki and offers total engineering services to a broad client base with growing potential.Type : Full time, Permanent.

Positions available : 1 X Supervisor (site and workshop), 1 X Fitter & Welder, 1 X Metal Fabricator & Welder.

Opportunities for loyal candidates.ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with Workshop Supervisors, Leading Hands, all FNE Engineering Ltd staff, subcontractors, QA / QC team / inspectors.Promote and maintain a safe and positive work environment aligned with company HSE policies and WorkSafe NZ requirements.Read / understand and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using appropriate tools.Dismantle, inspect, repair, and reassemble mechanical components and machinery.Install, align, and adjust mechanical assemblies and equipment.Operate hand tools and mechanical fitting equipment safely and effectively with attention to detail.Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on plant, equipment, and machinery.Qualifications and SkillsSupervisor role : knowledge of how a workshop runs with focus on record keeping in accounts, quoting, HSE and QA / QC.Welding roles : a Level 4 Engineering Trade Qualification or at least 3 years' experience as a Fitter Welder, Sheet Metal Fabricator, or equivalent.

Additional skills are welcome and remunerated accordingly.Proficient English communication skills, including technical English.Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a team or autonomously.Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings, and verbal instructions.Benefits and TermsCompetitive remuneration aligned with skills and experience.A team environment to grow with; opportunities for growth and development.Full-time permanent positions with a guaranteed minimum 40+ hours per week (part-time or job-sharing may be possible).

Pay rate : Fitter / Fabricator-Welder ($28-$38 per hour); Supervisor ($40-$45 per hour).
