Structural Designer / Drafter

Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural Designer / Drafter to join our Southern Building Structures team in Christchurch. You’ll play a key role in delivering structural design documentation across a range of building projects, working closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and overseeing structural drawings for complex projects, ensuring alignment with company standards, quality systems, and budgets.
• Managing and verifying electronic drawing exchanges and coordination.
• Delivering design documentation from concept to completion, meeting quality and technical excellence.
• Providing structural design guidance and support to colleagues.
• Communicating design intent clearly to internal teams and external clients, building strong working relationships.
• Contributing to tender and bid submissions, showcasing Beca’s design expertise.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and optimise project outcomes.
