What You Will Do
As a Software Engineer in the BCFS division, part of the Field Systems segment at Trimble, you will be part of a small but dynamic, high-performing team that is responsible for delivering leading-edge Augmented Reality based solutions for Trimble's customers across multiple disciplines, enabling them to bring their data to life, and visualise and explore complex information with unrivalled accuracy.
You will be responsible for delivering exciting and innovative solutions in software to meet requirements defined at a high level. Working primarily in Unity, for applications running on both iOS and Android devices, you will get to stretch your technical skills and make a real difference to users working in civil engineering, construction, architecture, and more.
Your responsibilities will include :
Demonstrating a set of sound fundamental software engineering skills as part of the development process that results in predictability in engineering deliverables, and the quality of products developed
Working effectively with the development team, the application domain experts, and other software developers across the broader organisation, to develop against loosely defined requirements
Working with the project team to identify / clarify project goals, establish useful milestones, and develop a breakdown of the engineering tasks to be performed, to help deliver production-level software per regular release cycles
Contributing to technical / design reviews as required by the project framework
Working closely with application testing engineers to identify and resolve issues and improve user workflows.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
Along with being a team player, with strong problem-solving and work prioritisation skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and able to work in a fast-paced environment, you will also need to bring :
Minimum 2 years of experience developing with the Unity framework
Experience in designing and developing iOS or Android platform commercial applications is preferable
Experience in integrating 3rd party software or API into Unity Android or iOS applications is desirable
Experience with or working knowledge of 3D modelling and data
Knowledge of graphics rendering, data structures, and multi-threaded programming
Knowledge of designing for augmented-reality or mixed-reality applications is a bonus
Demonstrable understanding of sound software development practices in a shared code base and team environment
Proactive attitude towards the team’s common goals of delivering innovative solutions for our customers.
