You'll work closely with whanau, teacher aides, and external agencies to ensure every student receives the care and guidance they deserve.Key responsibilitiesIndividual Education Plans (IEPs) : Lead the creation and review of IEPs in partnership with students, families, and support staff.Collaboration : Work alongside teacher aides and external agencies to deliver holistic support.Communication : Maintain open, daily contact with parents and report regularly to the SENCO and senior leadership.Timetable management : Coordinate teacher aide schedules and serve as the go-to person for student and staff support.Programme design & delivery : Develop and implement year-long programmes for ORS-funded students, including structured literacy and Numicon where appropriate.Qualifications & experienceRegistered teacher with a relevant qualification.Special education training or experience highly desirable.Proven success in developing IEPs and supporting students with learning challenges.Familiarity with structured literacy and / or Numicon is a plus.Skills & attributesDeep understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities.Exceptional organizational and communication skills.Collaborative, empathetic, and flexible approach.Reliable and proactive in managing responsibilities and adapting to change.At Ruapehu College, we celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the unique journey of every learner.
