Allied Health – New Entrant to Specialist Practice (NESP), Mental Health & Addictions (Nelson / Wairau), Fixed Term Full-time
Suitable for an enthusiastic new Occupational Therapist or Social Worker graduate or an experienced clinician new to Mental Health / Addictions to gain valuable clinical practice experience.

About the Role
As an Allied Health NESP, you will :
have two 6-month rotations within our Mental Health and Addictions teams.
These could be with the community, inpatient, infant child and adolescent mental health, adult mental health or addiction teams,
receive comprehensive orientation, mentoring, supervision and support,
take part in an in-service NESP programme alongside other new graduate Allied Health professionals and Nurses,
be supported to study towards the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Mental Health and Addictions) via AUT.
This is fully funded via Te Pou.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position for 12 months, working 80 hours a fortnight (1.0 FTE).
The hours of work will be negotiable, but generally between 8 : 00AM and 5.00PM.
About the Team / Service / Location
Secondary care Adult Mental Health & Addiction Services, in the Nelson & Marlborough region, are delivered by established multi-disciplinary teams based at Nelson and Wairau Hospital and within the community.
The teams work in close association with partner services to deliver a comprehensive clinical service to those affected by mental illness and addictions.

About you
As an Allied Health NESP, you will :
be an enthusiastic and energetic recently graduated Social Worker / Occupational Therapist or experienced clinician new to Mental Health & Addictions,
have well-developed people skills, and a person-centred approach to practice,
bring confidence, a good sense of humour and great networking skills.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
