The director of Te Kuaka Mārangaranga is a committed leader who supports taitamariki to thrive in a culturally grounded environment. Guided by Māori values such as te hā o te mauri and core principles including manaaki, achievement, hau kainga, and integrity, this role focuses on fostering leadership, confidence, and pride in being Māori.
The director will develop the academy, encourage student participation and achievement, and support cultural learning within the kura and wider community. They will work closely with whanau, staff, and community partners to create meaningful opportunities and resources that reflect Māori perspectives. The role also includes helping to build and maintain a strong identity for Te Kuaka Mārangaranga.
Key qualities include respect for Māori values, leadership, clear communication, inclusiveness, and a passion for Māori education and student wellbeing.
This role reports to the line manager and curriculum lead.
