Customer Service / Yard Hand

Overview

Plyguy Limited is a timber merchant specialising in plywood, LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) and related engineered wood products.

Plyguy offers direct retail from our yards in Clareville, on the outskirts of Carterton and Burgess Park in New Plymouth, as well as Ecommerce providing nation-wide sales.

The yards are currently open to the public Monday to Friday.

The Role

The role is 90% hands-on in the yard, with some computer work.

This is a full-time position with 40 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

Stock management and preparation.

Packaging and dispatch of orders.

Inwards goods processing.

Customer service and sales.

Ensuring the tidiness of the warehouse, yard and other facilities.

Computer-based administration duties.

Qualifications

Essential :

Full class 1 drivers' licence.

NCEA Level 1 or equivalent

Desirable :

Forklift license / F endorsement (Training will be provided).

Retail experience.

Able to use of Microsoft Office suite & web-based systems.

Personal Qualities

Excellent customer service skills.

A friendly and approachable manner

An ability to follow procedures

Capable of working calmly when under pressure

High standards of personal presentation

Physically fit and able, particularly for repetitive lifting motions.

Can work equally well as part of a team or on their own.

Adheres to health and safety standards.

Be able to pass workplace drug and alcohol testing as required by management.

Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
