From concept development to delivery, you'll shape experiences that connect audiences to the region's heritage and contemporary culture, while also contributing to the stewardship and growth of our collections.

Te Aheinga - The Opportunity

Develop and deliver exhibitions that engage diverse audiences and reflect MTG's priorities and curatorial vision.

Lead public programmes and interpretive materials that enhance visitor experiences.

Undertake research and share knowledge through talks, publications, and outreach.

Collaborate with colleagues, artists, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive and impactful delivery.

He korero mohou - About You

A relevant tertiary qualification (Art History, Fine Arts, or similar).

At least three years' experience curating or developing exhibitions and programmes.

Strong research, writing, and public presentation skills to engage a wide audience.

Creativity balanced with pragmatic delivery — able to bring bold ideas to life on time and within budget.

A collaborative, team-focused approach with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of its relevance in the museum context.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday.

You will be based at the MTG in Napier.

The annual salary package for this role is between $73,300-$86,200 (including KiwiSaver) with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
