Waikato Hospital- Pharmacy on Meade

Permanent Full time- Monday to Friday 8am-5 : 30pm, rostered Saturday 9 : 30am-2pm

About the Role

Grow your career and gain exposure across the dynamic world of hospital services based at one of the countrys largest tertiary hospitals : Waikato Hospital.

Our dedicated community pharmacy team are seeking a Senior PACT Technician and Vaccinator to join us at our on-site community pharmacy Pharmacy on Meade.

As a Senior PACT Technician working in Pharmacy on Meade, you will play a key role in the provision of community pharmacy services located right within the vibrant hub of Waikato Hospital campus.

Youll be working alongside and have direct links to a multidisciplinary team of specialists, doctors, nurses and outpatient clinics.

This role will also provide exposure to management as you will oversee the dispensary technician team in Pharmacy on Meade, Dispensary Technician rostering, running daily and monthly reports and liaising with the team leader to improve services and beneficial outcomes for our community pharmacy.

You will be an integral part of the wider hospital pharmacy team as well as the larger hospital multi-disciplinary team.

You will increase your clinical knowledge not only with our connections to the different specialised areas in the hospital, but also with the fact that the majority of our prescriptions are discharge prescriptions which are often quite specialised.

We also deal with compassionate supply medications and NPPA prescriptions.

Day to day, you will be part of a supportive and friendly team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and a pharmacy assistant.

We offer dispensing, compounding, vaccinations and clinical services to patients, visitors and hospital employees.

We pride ourselves on excellent retail customer service which is also an important component of the role.

The role is both busy and enjoyable with lots of variety.

This role would be ideal for someone looking to develop in management and leadership skills, broaden their clinical knowledge or seeking a change from routine traditional community pharmacy settings.

We offer a better work life balance with our hours being 8am- 5 : 30pm, occasional rostered Saturdays.

No Sundays or Public Holidays.

Key responsibilities

Dispensary based services

Involvement in provision of compassionate supply medicines

Involvement in NPPA prescriptions

Involvement in daily ordering from main supplier

Ordering specialised medications from other specialised companies

Involvement in prescription batch claims

Clinical pharmacy services to outpatients

A link between discharged patients and the hospital teams

Oversee dispensary technician team

Running Daily and monthly reports

Dispenser rostering via Dispensary Technician rostering

Liaising with the team leader to improve services and beneficial outcomes for Pharmacy on Meade

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Collective Agreement.

About you

Skills and experience youll need to be considered for this role :

National Certificate minimum Level 5 qualified pharmacy technician

PACT trained and certified

Experience in community pharmacy practice

Customer focussed and a team player

Experience in Leadership (Preferred)

Working at Health New Zealand
