Our roots are grounded in foster care, and our mahi has expanded to include whanau preservation, restoration, youth work, and training for kura and organizations.Our trauma-informed approach, drawing on social work, youth work, education, and therapeutic expertise, is central to supporting young people, matua whangai (foster carers), and whanau.Our tikanga (values)—honohono, mahorahora, whakaiti, and tumanako—guide our work and define our team culture.We are embarking on an exciting phase with our organisational strategy, Waka Hourua, which aligns with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and aims to positively impact mokopuna, tamariki, rangatahi, and their communities.Now, about the role...We are seeking a Social Work practitioner passionate about the wellbeing of children in care, focusing on returning mokopuna to whanau or preventing entry into care.This role involves supporting the recruitment, development, and retention of matua whangai, as well as providing practical guidance on managing mokopuna's behavioural and emotional needs.About the role :
You should be creative, flexible, and passionate about recognizing strengths and potential in matua whangai, mokopuna, and whanau.Our ideal candidate will have : A passion for evidence-based practice.Experience with practice frameworks or outcome measures.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent time-management and documentation skills.Understanding of the care system is advantageous.The role includes : Assessing prospective and current matua whangai for safety and stability.Collaborating with our Clinical Consultant to integrate therapeutic strategies.Providing coaching and support to matua whangai.Working with mokopuna, whanau, caregivers, and communities in a systemic approach.Assessing mokopuna and whanau needs.Availability for meetings with prospective carers, including evenings and weekends.Application process : Include a cover letter and CV, either via the 'Apply for this Role' button or email to
