Job description5+ years’ experience working in an Agile environment. Proven hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Playwright , Cypress , or similar. Solid experience in API and integration testing using Postman or SOAPUI . Practical knowledge of CI / CD pipelines , ideally in Azure DevOps . A solid understanding of DevOps principles and shift-left testing practices. Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus. Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.

Lead Test Automation Engineer – Location : Auckland CBD | Hybrid working

We’re seeking a hands-on Test Automation Leader to drive quality across web, API, integration, and performance testing within a modern digital environment. You’ll be the go-to technical expert, embedding best practices, integrating testing into CI / CD pipelines, and mentoring testers to lift capability across the Agile teams. This role is ideal for someone who loves being close to the tools, has a shift-left mindset, and thrives on building robust, scalable automation frameworks.
What you’ll do
- Lead and evolve test automation strategies across web, API, integration, and performance testing.
- Embed testing practices within CI / CD pipelines and promote a quality-first culture.
- Mentor and uplift test capability across Agile squads.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to ensure seamless delivery and continuous improvement.
- Advocate for accessibility, usability, and performance as part of every release.
