The Role : Technical Lead - Software Engineering

You’ll be the anchor for one (or two) agile squads — shaping technical strategy, writing clean, scalable code, and mentoring engineers. You’ll set the tone and pace for delivery, while creating space for growth and innovation. This is a true opportunity to raise the bar of engineering excellence across New Zealand through thoughtful leadership, collaborative design, and a relentless focus on building better software. You’ll still be coding and doubling down on the impact you can make.

What You’ll Bring

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in SaaS or cloud-native environments
• A proven track record of technical leadership and the ability to elevate others through mentoring, coaching, and shared problem-solving
• Experience improving engineering culture and delivery practices, including DevSecOps, automated testing, and test-driven development
• Deep understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure, especially AWS and how to build scalable, secure, cost-efficient systems
• Proficiency in systems and software design, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clean, maintainable code
