We are currently looking for a highly skilled Sous Chef to work at the NZDF in Trentham , located 30km north of Wellington. It is a full-time (30+ hours per week) position, rostered across 7 days per week. This role would suit an ambitious Sous Chef looking to step‑up to a role that offers diversity, where no day is the same and where you can really make your mark. You will need to be a leader who is able to engage, coordinate, support and inspire our kitchen team, working alongside our Exec Chef to help coordinate and manage the daily running of the kitchen.

Your Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head Chef with a strong emphasis on quality and presentation, delivering consistent and high quality menu service.
• Adhering to safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of you and your team.
• Organising and executing daily service / prep in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assist in up‑skilling existing staff members including training and guidance.
• Ensure appropriate hygiene practices are followed by all kitchen staff including personal presentation and food safety plan procedure.
