The Role As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing Tramco's finance function, combining hands-on financial management with leadership, strategic insight, and commercial oversight.
You will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while driving process improvements and supporting key business decisions.
Oversee the finance function, providing hands-on financial management, strategic insight, and commercial oversight.
Maintain the general ledger (Xero) and manage treasury, payroll, and supplier payments across the management company and property portfolios.
Prepare NZ IFRS-compliant financial statements, reconciliations, and quarterly reporting for the Board and stakeholders.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, delivering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure compliance with GST, FBT, PAYE, and liaise with external advisors on tax and regulatory matters Analyse financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve efficiency and profitability.
Drive process improvements across finance systems, workflows, and internal controls.
Partner with operational and commercial teams to align financial processes with business goals and support investment and growth initiatives.
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and assist with audit preparation.
To be successful in this role, you will bring : CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent) with strong knowledge of NZ accounting standards and best practices.
Solid understanding of financial reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Experience with applying Co-Pilot / AI tools in a commercial finance setting at a practical level is desirable.
Strong numerical skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data effectively.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word, with experience in Xero.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the ability to balance operational and long-term priorities.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
