Automation Test Engineer

OverviewAutomation Test Engineer role at TVNZ.This is a 12 month fixed term contract.What You'll DoDesign, build, and maintain automation frameworks for API, integration, and end-to-end testing.Leverage Postman and similar tools to validate APIs and build automated collections for regression.Conduct manual testing.Lead system integration testing across multiple services, ensuring data and process flows work reliably end-to-end.Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python and integrate with CI / CD pipelines.Define best practices for automation and ensure scalability and maintainability of frameworks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify test requirements, acceptance criteria, and coverage gaps.Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and quality metrics.What We're Looking For3+ years of professional experience in test automation and QA engineering.Hands-on experience with Postman, API testing (REST / GraphQL), and service mocking tools.

Swagger / Insomnia experience also ok.Proven experience in system integration testing across complex, distributed systems.Expertise in designing and building automation frameworks from scratch.Solid understanding of CI / CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., Xray, Zephyr, TestRail) and defect tracking in Jira.Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.Analytical and detail-oriented with a strong-quality-first mindset.Effective in communicating test outcomes, documenting defects, and collaborating across technical teams.Comfortable working in agile, collaborative environments with an openness to change and innovation.Enthusiasm for learning modern data engineering tools, platforms, and best practices.Additional DetailsSalary and location : Auckland, New Zealand (as listed in the posting).
