About us

As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa, you will experience the support of a nationwide organisation with the family feeling of a close knit centre community. At Busy Bees Napier Road, we believe the environment is a child’s third teacher. Our cosy Kōwhai Room for pēpi and adventurous Redwood Room for older tamariki each have their own large outdoor space with real grass and beautiful trees, so children can connect with Papatūānuku every day. Our curriculum is emergent and discovery based, grounded in Te Whāriki. We honour and embrace the diverse cultures within our centre, helping each child stand strong in their own identity while learning alongside others. You will be joining a passionate team of kaiako who value meaningful relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community.

About you

You are friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoy being with young children. You communicate clearly, bring steady, positive energy to the room and are confident building relationships with tamariki, whānau and your team. Maybe you already have some ECE experience, or maybe you are just starting out, but you are keen to learn, open to feedback and ready to grow your practice over time.

The mahi

You will support kaiako with daily routines, supervision and learning experiences, helping to create calm, engaging spaces where tamariki feel safe to explore and play. You’ll get involved in play, help set up and reset environments, support care routines, join in nature based experiences that connect children with Papatūānuku, and contribute to the warm, welcoming tone of the centre and team.
