About the role
We are seeking an Airfield Safety and Compliance Investigator to join our Airfield Safety and Investigations Team at Auckland Airport. Working at the centre of airfield operations, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding our aerodrome by identifying hazards, monitoring safety trends and ensuring that incidents and near-misses are thoroughly reported and investigated. This role is full-time and permanent, Monday to Friday, 08 : 30–17 : 00.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure incidents and near misses are reported, investigated, and resolved, corrective actions implemented in line with our Safety Management Policy.
- Lead and complete assigned investigations, providing clear and timely outcomes.
- Champion the Risk Manager system and all other safety and compliance supporting systems within Operations; support training and capability development for Operations staff.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Airside Driving and Vehicle Permit Rules, ensuring alignment with our Just Culture Policy.
- Conduct regular safety walks with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong working relationships built on collaboration and trust.
- Provide expert training and guidance in investigation practices.
- Maintain oversight of airfield safety and compliance, including airport ground servicing equipment, maintenance activities and operational practices.
- Oversee management of change processes when new processes or procedures are introduced, ensuring full compliance with our Safety Management Policy.
- Support airfield project planning to safeguard operations, minimise impacts, and ensure stakeholders are fully informed.
