About the Role
The Senior Integration Engineer is a pivotal technical leader responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting high-quality integration solutions across a complex and rapidly evolving enterprise environment. Operating at a senior level of technical expertise, this role leads the end-to-end development of modern, reusable integration services and APIs, while providing guidance, coaching, and thought leadership to uplift capability across engineering teams. Working closely with architects, product teams, and operational stakeholders, the Senior Integration Engineer ensures integration solutions are robust, secure, scalable, and aligned to strategic objectives. Operating within a critical 24 / 7 services landscape that supports communities across New Zealand, this role plays a key part in enabling Te Whatu Ora's mission by building resilient, future-focused digital capability. The position drives technical excellence, fosters a culture of quality, automation, and continuous improvement, and contributes directly to the delivery of high-quality software that underpins the health system's long-term sustainability and performance.

The Senior Integration Engineer joins a highly collaborative and forward-focused Integration Engineering team that operates at the heart of Te Whatu Ora's digital ecosystem. The team partners closely with architects, developers, product owners, operational specialists, and stakeholders across Data and Digital to deliver integration solutions that support critical health services nationwide. Working within a complex 24 / 7 technology environment, the team is committed to building scalable, secure, and modern integration capabilities that enable seamless connectivity across essential systems. With a shared focus on quality, automation, reusability, and continuous improvement, the team fosters a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, and collective problem-solving, ensuring the digital foundations of New Zealand's health system remain resilient, responsive, and future-ready.

With a solid background in designing, developing, and supporting high-quality integration solutions, you combine strong technical expertise with excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and are comfortable influencing and guiding others to deliver robust, scalable, and secure outcomes.
