Wind Technician

OverviewJMS is seeking Wind Technicians to support projects throughout the United States.

Wind Techs are responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of wind turbines and their components.

• Compensation Currency : US DollarCommute : OnsiteTravel : 100%Educational Level : High School DiplomaWork Experience : 2 - 5 YearsResponsibilitiesPromote and follow JMS safety standards on-site, prioritizing and demonstrating safe behaviorInstall and terminate power, control and communication cabling within the tower, including nacelle, hub and base sectionsInstall junction boxes, cable trays, conduits and grounding systems according to design specificationsPerform electrical work for power distribution and interconnection to ensure seamless integration of renewable energy systemsClimb and perform work at heights safely within wind turbine towers, following strict fall protection and safety protocolsCollaborate with commissioning and electrical teams to support energization and system verification processesRead and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documents specific to renewable energy projects to ensure accurate routing and connection of componentsConduct continuity and insulation resistance testing to verify the integrity of installed wiring and componentsPerform and document quality assurance checks according to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications and project standardsMaintain accurate documentation of completed work, materials used and any changes or issues encounteredTroubleshoot and repair wiring issues and component failures during installation and testingAdhere to safety protocols, including lockout / tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and job site hazard assessmentsComply with OSHA, NFPA 70E and site-specific safety requirements in all daily activities and tasksOther duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years of experience in the wind industry or related electrical tradeKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesStrong commitment to safety and strict adherence to fall protection and safety protocolsWorking knowledge of basic construction principlesAbility to read and interpret schematics and other technical documentsPhysical ability to pass tower climbing fit for duty physical, including general ability to climb ladder systems, carrying tools and equipment and meet OSHA weight requirements of
• pounds (as determined by weight limits for ladders and rigging harnesses).
