About the team
Within our Corporate Services Division, led by the CFO, the Purchasing, Inventory and Logistics Teams leads the management of Transpower's materials and provides analytics to support logistics and purchasing functions.
Our Logistics team plays a pivotal role in the supply chain by managing materials, logistics, and compliance across three key warehouse locations.
Through strong teamwork and efficient processes, we help asset management, project, and maintenance teams meet their goals while promoting safety, innovation, and efficiency.
The warehouse environment
We store assets critical to supplying electricity across Aotearoa New Zealand, including transformers, transmission components, heavy machinery, and large, awkwardly shaped items.
It's a unique environment - complex, dynamic, and far from ordinary!
As Warehouse Supervisor, you'll support our Logistics Manager and collaborate with other Supervisors to keep our busy warehouses running smoothly.
You'll lead a small, close-knit team where collaboration and mutual support are key.
Taking full ownership of the Bunnythorpe site, from inventory and logistics to facilities, you'll thrive in a role where there's always something new to learn.
You'll also be on-call one week in three, ensuring warehouse support is available when it matters most.
You will :
Be responsible for all aspects of site safety, ensuring a safe working environment for your team and visitors.
Ensure inventory accuracy, stock reconciliation, and on-time delivery of essential materials and critical spares.
Lead and develop the warehouse team, providing coaching, clear expectations, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards, including emergency response duties.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to resolve operational issues.
Contribute to reporting and governance processes, providing accurate metrics and supporting risk mitigation.
Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, accuracy, and warehouse performance.
Contribute to supply chain strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
You're a hands-on leader who thrives in a busy warehouse environment, with a track record of keeping operations running safely and efficiently.
You inspire and support your team to perform at their best, build strong relationships, and bring a customer-focused mindset to solving problems and juggling priorities.
To be considered, your CV and cover letter should demonstrate :
5+ years of experience supervising warehouse operations and keeping day-to-day activities running smoothly.
Solid understanding of Health and Safety in a warehouse environment.
Strong leadership skills with a history of developing and motivating others to work safely, efficiently, and contribute to a strong team dynamic.
Skilled in inventory control and management systems to ensure stock levels are accurate and materials are available when needed.
Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
Clear and confident communication skills to build positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, and external partners.
Experience with IBM Maximo or similar inventory systems
While not essential, qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Operations, or Lean Six Sigma (or similar) are advantageous.
