We're looking for a strong leader to guide and support our frontline team at Manawatu Community Hub Libraries.This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be right there alongside your team, welcoming customers, solving problems on the spot, and helping things run smoothly.
You'll be the first point of support for our Community Hub Experience Specialists, coaching them day to day, and making sure our community always gets friendly, helpful service.What you\'ll doBe a visible leader on the floor, supporting the team through busy times.Coach, encourage, and build confidence in your team members.Help with daily operations : from service desks to space bookings and customer enquiries.Keep things organised with rosters, simple routines, and clear communication.Step up as 2IC to the Community Hub Libraries Manager when needed.What you\'ll bringExperience leading or supervising in a customer-focused role.A willingness and ability to roll up your sleeves and do what needs to be done.A people-first approach : calm, approachable, and great at communication.Confidence with digital systems and everyday transactions.A knack for solving problems and keeping things running smoothly.A full NZ driver\'s licence and willingness to help where needed.Why you\'ll love itAt Manawatu District Council, our vision is a connected, vibrant and thriving Manawatu.
Our Community Hub Libraries are at the heart of that - modern, welcoming spaces where people come to connect, create, and discover.The salary range midpoint for this role is $83,900.
Salary will be determined by the experience you bring.
